Transcript of To Kill A Mockingbird Chapter 6 Annotation

Chapter 6 Annotation In this chapter we meet Mr. Avery He lives across the street from Mrs. Dubose He is old, and was once witnessed urinating from his porch to the street light Events
Jem, Dill, and Scout plan to peek into a broken shutter on the Radley home While sneaking up to the window they get shot at by Mr. Radley, mistaking them for a negro trying to steal his collards.
Jem Loses his pants and has to go back for them in the middle of the night Quotes “… a ramshackle porch ran the width of the house; there were two doors and two dark windows between the doors. Instead of a column a rough two-by-four supported one end of the roof. An old Franklin stove sat in the corner of the porch; above it a hat-rack mirror caught the moon and shone eerily,” (Lee 70). “ Jem’s white shirt-tail dipped and bobbed like a small ghost dancing away to escape the coming morning… He came up the back steps, latched the door behind him, and sat on his cot. Wordlessly, he held up his pants. He lay down, and for a while I heard his cot trembling,” (76).
