Emergency Medical Technician

Very often, the first medical professionals on the scene of an emergency are Emergency Medical Technicians, or EMTs. Much more than mere “ambulance drivers”, EMTs respond to all types of emergency calls and perform a wide variety of pre-hospital medical care.

MCC offers students entry-level emergency response training with its EMT-Basic (EMT-B) program. EMT-Bs do not provide definitive medical care on the scene but rather focus on rapid in-field treatment and patient transport to medical facilities.

The EMT-Basic program at MCC is designed to train the next sequence of skill required to progress upward in the emergency medical field. Successful completion of the 16-week long training course qualifies you for state EMT-Basic certification as sanctioned by the Arizona Department of Health Services.

Certificate

The knowledge and skills acquired while earning a Certificate of Completion (CCL) can help launch you into a new career or energize your current job. Generally requiring fewer credit hours than degrees or transfer programs, a CCL may be your best first step into higher education.
