Enrollment Requirements

2018–19

Students offered participation in CAP select from a list of participating UT System schools . The schools available to an individual student depend upon the enrollment requirements the student meets. Each participating UT System school sets its own enrollment requirements annually. These requirements are current for 2018–19.

Students who do not meet the CAP requirements for one of these schools will not be offered that school as an option for their CAP participation.

CAP Eligibility: How We Use Scores and Rank

A student’s eligibility to attend a particular UT System institution is based on the SAT (critical reading and math) or ACT scores and class rank UT Austin used in making a student’s admission decision. Any class rank and/or SAT or ACT scores provided to UT Austin after the admission decision date are not considered for CAP decisions.

The highest SAT score (critical reading and math) or ACT composite score from one test date is used to determine which institutions an individual student is eligible to attend as part of CAP; combined high scores from different test dates are not used.

If a CAP participant attended a high school that reported a class rank on a transcript or other documentation, the class rank reported by the school before an admission decision was made is used to determine which institutions the student may attend as part of CAP.
